BE-DAZZLED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always thought the "Be-dazzler" was a ridiculous infomercial! Today, while hard at work building my website, proofing my business cards & making the business announcements, I had the opportunity to actually use the infamous "Be-dazzler". It pains me to admit it, but it was a lot of fun! My business announcements now have a hint of bling and a dazzling, eye catching flair! Who would have thought! Somebody stop me before I start bedazzling snuggies and distributing them as gifts! LOL!!!

From donation, to creation!

With an "eye for design", I am constantly on the lookout for new and exciting, pieces, furniture, fabrics, accessories and various elements to enchance my jobs and spaces. When something stops me in my trademark stiletto's, and, if it is affordable, I tend to go with it. This little habit and job hazard (LOL!) often leaves me with a slew of extra furniture and accessories.

I often donate my unused or unneeded pieces to my local goodwill. As I was heading to a meeting today, I stopped in at the goodwill store. To my great surprise, it was a treasure chest!

Tables, china cabinents, desks, chairs etc - Now, these items all are in need of some TLC and creativity, but to someone with a creative knack, these items can become showstoppers! I currently have my eye on an "Old Hollywood" style china cabinet. With a good sanding and staining, someone's donation, is gonna become my high end looking creation!!!!!!!

Rust-Oleum ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right off my kitchen, I have a crawl space. The crawl space is covered with the world's ugliest, eye sore of a carpet! I didn't want to invest much money in a raely used, barely seen space, but I did want to tone down the glare of the eye sore. In one of my many trips to Menards, I stumbled across carpet spray paint. I figured for the low cost of $5, it was worth a try!

WOW, is all that I can say. Rust-Oleum has come up with an effective, affordable, truly amazing product. It seriously took a outdated, dreadful carpet from vile to fabulous.

I can't sing the praises of this product enough! Onee caveat - it smells awful so make sure to open a window or use a fan to ventilate the smell OUT!!!!!

So Many Designs....So little time!

I can't believe it has been over 3 months since I have posted a blog! Egads!!!! Been busy with renovating my own home and taking steps to really launch my design career. I am happy to report that I just got a REALLY COOL new design job!!!! I am going to be a set designer!!!!!

Set design is something that has always intrigued me! I cannot wait to get started! I will post pics of my home reno and pics from the set, once we get underway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HGTV, Don't go breaking my heart.......

I just found out from a casting agent friend of mine that HGTV is holding open casting calls in Los Angeles and New York, for the next great designer!!!!!!!! That is fantastic and exciting, but it begs the question.....WHAT ABOUT CHICAGO????????????????????????

Yes, L.A. is my second "home" and I can usually get out there at a moment's notice, but alas -this time it just wasn't possible!

NEW YEAR- NEW DESIGNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello fellow design fans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!! I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday! I am sorry for the delay in blog updates. It has been a crazy few months. I have recently embarked upon a total apartment makeover and the project has been a ton of fun. There is nothing more fufilling to a designer than to see your vision executed and ALIVE!!!! I hope to get pictures up within the next week or so!
